Our company visits often begin with a reception in the president’s office, especially if there is a Rotary connection.  Daegu Health College president Nam Sung Hee was the first woman Rotary district governor in Korea.  She is also an avid art collector. Her office and the main building’s common areas are filled with traditional and modern paintings. The courtyard between the half dozen or so buildings on campus is decorated with stone and metal sculptures.  A new art gallery on campus holds her personal collection of  late-1800s vintage furniture.
Daegu Health College features a teaching lab where children can get free dental care from students.  It’s part of a community outreach program, which fits in well with the school’s main purpose: to work closely with hospitals and clinics to provide well educated and well trained workers.
