One of the quirkiest things about Korean culture is branding. The main streets of Daegu are lined as far as the eye can see with shop signs. The people of Daegu acknowledge that this makes their city a bit less attractive than it could be, but they say there’s not much that can be done about it.
Many of the signs are in a rather creative version of English, as illustrated above. (Koreans tend to wear very stylish eyeglasses, by the way.)
