It’s “children’s day” at the museum. The photo captures the Group Study Exchange experience very nicely: just put on your uniform, smile, and enjoy the ride.
Every day we meet at the Rotary District Governor’s office at 9:30 where we preview the day’s schedule. Or rather, we revise the day’s schedule! Perhaps our hosts feel that we need to experience Korea at warp speed. In just two days we have visited a bullfighting festival, a tea room, a Korean bath, the Daegu National Museum, the Poong Kuk noodle factory, and the Dodlesem kimchi factory.
And that’s just during the day. At night we attend Rotary functions. On Wednesday night, we were welcomed officially by Rotary District 3700 with a banquet at the Prince Hotel, where we also gave our presentation about our way of life back home. On Thursday night we attended a 28th anniversary celebration for a Daegu Rotary club. Both nights, we regaled the audience with “This Land is Your Land,” and our rendition of a traditional Korean song, “Arirang.”
